The "Secret" Shot You Need to Learn

If there is one offensive move I think everyone should add to their game (or perfect it if it is already a part of their game) is the jump hook.

The jump hook, if done right, is almost impossible to defend against. It's a great shot close to the basket on post moves, or follow-up shots on offensive rebounds.

Work on this shot, with both your right and left hands and you'll increase your scoring average and effectiveness around the basket.

Work on keeping your body between you and the defense, go up with both hands, and get full extension on the shot release. Done right, it's a nice, soft shot that has a good chance of going in the basket.

Need proof of how effective a jump hook can be? Watch the Spurs play just one game and see how Tim Duncan uses the jumphook.
